By now some of you have been getting to
know my sweet Kota dog a little.
He is such a blessing to us.
A few years ago we lost our Riley boy
and we were just miserable.
We have had dogs for years and
after about a month of not having the
love of a good dog by our side
I started, on the sly, to look for another.
(My husband had put his foot down and
said "no more dogs").
Little did he know that I need to have a dog to love on.
I spotted an ad in the Sunday paper -
someone offering a white husky
Sounded exactly like what I was looking for.
This was the first ad I had even looked at
I knew this was a sign from above
I had to see this dog
I think hubby was even starting to get interested
We have pretty much only had husky dogs and
I just love 'em to pieces so this was a major no-brainer for me!
I suggested that we stop by after church - just to take
a look... hmm (not what I was thinking)
It was mad love at first sight..
It was official- hubby and I were smitten

Anyways the rest is history...
Kota is our sweet little guy that was surely
a gift from God
Making Kota happy is really easy, all you have to do is:
Love him lots,
Walk him lots
and ...
give him homemade doggie ice cream
Here is he is enjoying a cup:
To make these you will need:
* 1/2 cup plastic cup containers with snap on lids
(the kind that Hefty and others make,
they come in an 8 pack at grocery & other stores),
* A can of dog food (Kota eats Merrick Chicken
Pot Pie- which he adores and it's all natural)
* About 1 spoonful of peanut butter (I use the natural kind) &
* some sort of blender.
I use a milkshake maker type blender (the ones with a really
tall metal milkshake cup)
He loves these.. can you tell?
I will then put about 1/2 cup of the can of dog food
in the milkshake blender along with the
spoonful of peanut butter and
fill the rest of the cup about 3/4 way with water
Must be intermission time
Then I will pour the mixture in the plastic containers
and plop them in the freezer.
They take a good 3-4 hours to freeze
Kota sometimes doesn't understand that part though
but he is a patient boy and simply waits
Here he is posing for his picture
Love to make him happy
(Isn't that what life is all about anyways?)
Kota is so lovely...what a lucky dog to have such a special treat. Thank you for visiting me the other day...your blog is lovely.
ReplyDeleteOh, he is beautiful. I have a Riley Dog. He is my baby. Soone to be 11 years old, his yellow face is quickly turning white. I intend to always have a dog! Good plan going to look at Kota after church. Almost seems sinful to leave the fellow behind!
